Bhubaneswar: Tata Indicom, India's youngest wireless mobile telecom service provider, Monday claimed that its subscriber base has crossed 20 million. It said it is the only wireless mobile telecom service provider to achieve the figure in just four years. Tata Teleservices Ltd (TTSL) was the first to introduce its own range of branded handsets and offers the widest range of high-end and full-value handsets, a company release said. The company also has to its credit the introduction of several attractive bundled offers and innovative tariff plans, well ahead of the rest of the industry. Other key initiatives which contributed to this fast pace growth the company said include the introduction of a wide range of handsets targeted at a cross-section of customers, extensive expansion in touch points through an enhanced retail presence. "Tata Indicom began pan-India operations in an already established and fiercely competitive market only in 2004," Ajay Shrivastav, a senior official of the Orissa circle of Tata Teleservices Ltd, said.
