BANGALORE: Tarang Software Technologies, a global IT solutions company, has announced the launch of Payment Gateway for Jordan Telecom. The Gateway has been implemented in association with e-dimension, a subsidiary of Jordan Telecom. This service, which is currently being offered to utility companies, will later be extended to other Government Departments, Private Merchants and Retail Consumers in Jordan. This is the first e-Commerce Payment Gateway in Jordan. The service will allow government, businesses and citizens in Jordan to process financial transactions online, paving the way for the development of e-commerce and e-government. Jordanians will now be able to pay their phone bills through the Internet. The Payment Gateway is built using 3 DES security and supports the 3 D protocol for preventing Fraudulent Transactions on the Internet. The contract is for a period of 5 years and will bring recurring revenues for Tarang. The launch of this service is the beginning of a strategic partnership between Tarang and e-dimension. The two companies will be working on several e-Governance projects in the months to come. On the occasion of the launch of the Payment Gateway, Revathi Kasturi, President of Tarang said " This is a landmark achievement for us. With the launch of our Payment Gateway in Jordan we have entered the select league of companies facilitating online Payments. This is the beginning and we will be working to expand our scope of solutions to cover the Mobile Payments and Micropayments." Tamouh Khouli, CEO of e-dimension, said on his relationship with Tarang "We selected Tarang's Payment Gateway because of the superiority over other existing solutions. And we needed a partner who would respond to the dynamics of the industry. We foresee tremendous potential for our partnership to address other areas especially in the e-Governance and e-Commerce Development".
