BANGALORE: Tarang Software, a global IT Solutions provider, has announced that it has achieved 3-D Secure 1.0.2 certification from Visa International for its software product MDSS 3.0, which is used as a plug-in for authentication of credit cards and online payment transactions. 3-D Secure is the newest authentication technology from Visa, which uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption and a Merchant Server Plug-in to pass information and query participants to authenticate the cardholder during an online purchase, and protect payment card information as it is transmitted via the Internet. 3-D Secure forms the basis for global interoperability of Authenticated Payments. Tarang’s MDSS 3.0, now compliant with ‘3 – D Secure’, will vastly improve the payment service for e-merchants, consumers and Visa Members by enhancing convenience, acceptance and security. Consumers will know that they can shop safely and conveniently while preventing fraud on their card, and merchants will know they are dealing with a legitimate cardholder anywhere in the world. MDSS 3.0 has also completed Visa International's new interoperability testing process. Ram Kumar, CEO, Tarang Software said, "This is a landmark achievement for us. Tarang is the second Indian company to be awarded this certification."
