Tally mela for awareness on VAT

BANGALORE: In an effort to educate the business community and individuals on VAT compliance and implementation, Tally Solutions will be conducting Tally melas across 10 cities in the country.
The mela which will be held in Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Kolkata, will have senior chartered accountants and tax experts interacting with the public, addressing all concerns and doubts on VAT as well as Service Tax and TDS.

It will also showcase solutions offered by Tally software to tackle problems relating to VAT implementation and other accounting issues.
"Tally software takes away all the complexity in tax modules like VAT, service tax and TDS, right down to the filing of statutory forms," president, Tally Solutions, Bharath Gopalakrishnan said.
"Over 350,000 copies of VAT enabled Tally 7.2 software have been shipped nationwide since its launch on March 3," he added.
Starting April 1,VAT will be implemented across the country and it has raised concerns. To address these concerns, visitors to the mela will be able to interact with Chartered Accountants present at the Tally Mela; on issues relating to VAT in addition to answering TDS and Service tax related queries. Members of trade associations, Government bodies & management associations will also be present and will be participating in the mela.
