TZero appoints Richard Sekar VP of marketing

SUNNYVALE, CA:TZero Technologies Inc., a developer of ultra wideband chipsets, has named Richard Sekar vice president of marketing, a newly created position.
As VP of marketing, Sekar will be responsible for launching TZero's new UWB wireless silicon products and developing its communications and global product strategies. Sekar previously served as VP of marketing at Ikanos Communications Inc.
TZero develops UWB chipsets for long-range broadband wireless connectivity for consumer electronics and mobile and networked devices. UWB chipsets have a large range and resist interference.
The company has not begun commercial sales of its product and is still in development stage. A spokeswoman said the company will likely release its product by the end of the year.
The company has raised just over $16 million from August Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners, U.S. Venture Partners and VentureTech Alliance. The company was founded in June 2003 and has 50 employees.
