TCS to set up 2,000 seats facility in Gujarat

MUMBAI: The information technology arm of Tata Group, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has announced its plan to develop a new facility in three phases at Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The first phase of the global software development center is expected to house 2,000 seats once fully commissioned, according to the company statement. The Gandhinagar facility, to be completely operational in 18 months, would cater to the needs of the government and utility sector clients of TCS as well as focus on ERP projects being executed by the company for the global clients, it said. The facility would augment the presence of TCS in Gujarat, where the company is already working with the Government as well as other public-sector firms and dairy co-operatives it said. TCS has already recruited over 480 employees in the state during the current financial year. Its CEO and Managing Director, S Ramadorai said, “TCS plans to play an integral role in the further development of the Gujarat economy by working with corporations and helping train and develop the talent in the state.”
