TCS to hire 30,000 grads

CHENNAI: Tata Consultancy Services’ Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, S Ramadurai announced on Sunday that the company would hire over 30,000 engineering graduates worldwide. Speaking on the occasion of the 20th convocation ceremony of Shanmugha Arts and Science Technology and Research Academy (SASTRA) on Sunday, Ramadurai said that most out of the 30,000 recruitments would be from India. He also emphasized the need for Indian Engineering graduates to develop sound software skills, language skills and multi-disciplinary know-how for them to have an edge over their counterparts. “Tough environments give an opportunity to innovate and grow,” he said, highlighting on the need to accept challenges and respond to them in the right spirit, while also adding that the easiest way to success was through innovation. Ramadurai also stated that according to studies, China would have a GDP growth of $44 trillion by 2015, leaving behind the United States with $38 trillion. India's GDP would also make a giant leap at $28 trillion by that year, he added.
