Bhubaneswar: Making use of the opportunities in regional locations for future growth, India's largest IT exporter Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is planning to focus on tier-two and tier-three cities such as Pune, Nagpur, Gandhinagar, Kochi and Chandigarh. The company is discussing possibilities to set up development centers in these cities. The centers in Pune and Gandhinagar are expected to be set up by the end of this year, while the other centers are scheduled for the second phase. "There is ample scope for our operations in tier-two and tier-three locations. Over 70 percent of the campus recruitments for TCS are conducted at these locations," S Ramadorai, CEO and Managing Director, TCS told Business Standard. TCS is looking at a pool of 7,000-10,000 professionals to run the proposed centers. Moreover, the company is also looking to strengthen its operations in overseas market like China, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, West Asia and Africa. TCS has plans to increase its headcount in China to 5,000 in the next five years.
