TCS opens office in Portugal

MUMBAI:IndiaÂ’s biggest software services company Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has opened an office in Portugal capital, increasing its sales office presence to 33 countries across the world as part of plans to broad base business. Portugal has the potential to be an important location for TCS due to the type of investments in IT, practices and quality in that country and the considerable growth across all sectors during the recent years, TCS Portugal Country Manager Ana Almeida said from Lisbon. The new office, set up through Latin American arm TCS Iberoamerica is located in Lisbon and would provide high-quality services and solutions to TCS existing and potential customers. At present, TCS Iberoamerica operates in nine countries across Mexico, Central America, South America and Spain, and addition of Portugal increases its presence to10 countries, she said. TCS would support the Portugal operations through its Global Development Centers (GDCs) located in India, Uruguay and Brazil. All these centers operate at CMMi level-5 and P-CMM level-5, the highest quality standards, she said. According to TCS Iberoamerica President Gabriel Rozman, the new Portugal office signifies the company's dedicated focus on the technology needs of this region. The Tata group company would also provide strategy consulting services to help Portugal's industries and government streamline their business operations and compete successfully in the digital economy, he added. TCS Iberoamerica employs over 600 professionals and has two GDCs- Uruguay and Brazil - offering services and solutions to over 40 regional and global clients, he said
