NEW DELHI:`Power Pack' - a software jointly developed by Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to aid in asset management of power generating stations, is proving to be a hit with power developers both in the country and abroad. The software is likely to be put into use by a Libyan Electricity Board power project, which is being executed by BHEL on a turnkey basis, a senior BHEL official said. A handful of hydroelectric projects in the country are also in the running for using the software, he said. "A prototype of the software has been exhibited at the Libyan Electricity Board station, officials said. Both companies also plan to jointly bid for local and global tenders involving software requirement by power stations. The company plans to export the software developed by the venture.
