Synopsys opens new facility in Noida

BANGALORE: Synopsys, Inc., the world leader in semiconductor design software, has announced it has opened an office in Noida to better serve the growing customer base in India’s northern region. Synopsys has had a strong presence in India for almost a decade, with over 225 employees working in research and development, sales and support in offices located in Bangalore and Hyderabad. The Noida office, located near Delhi, will initially have 20 employees providing sales and support services to customers in northern India. “Over time, Synopsys India has grown from a small office to three facilities with more than 240 employees,” said Gandhi. “Synopsys has one of the largest EDA customer bases in India as the attendance at this year’s Synopsys users’ group meeting in Bangalore on June 24-25, will demonstrate. Going forward, we will continue to provide our customers in India with the tools, flows, intellectual property, support and services they need to help them meet their toughest design challenges.” Synopsys opened its first office in Bangalore, India in 1995, and the second in Hyderabad in 2002. Synopsys India’s world-class facilities are among its largest outside North America with representation from every major Synopsys business unit. Synopsys India employees work on a variety of product and support teams and focus on activities ranging from the development of EDA tools, verification, chip design applications and methodologies to consulting and design services, and customer support. “We welcome Synopsys to India’s northern region and look forward to a long and productive relationship with the company,” said Mr. Prosit Mukherjee, director, TranSwitch (India) Private Limited. “India is fast becoming a leader in engineering and innovation, which will help forge the future of electronics.
