Synechron opens software center in Pune

PUNE: Synechron, formerly known as Fusion Infotech, has inaugurated its new software center in Pune. The center has a capacity to accommodate 1,000-software professionals. After inauguration, Faisal Husain, Chief Executive Officer of Synechron said, “The center has a design studio for a 50-member creative services team, testing labs and client centers.” The company, which has six offices spread out in Pune, would be shifted to the new location soon, he added. The company has the total strength of more than 400 by 2005 is expected to touch 550 by March 2006. For the previous financial year the company had recorded a turnover of $8 million, “We are expecting to touch a turnover of $20 million by the end of this financial year,” he said, adding that the growth would come from the mortgage industry, the Internet and the capital market. Recently the company has launched its knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) division, which has strength of 30 employees. For this segment Synechron was looking at more than 100 professionals. Husain said that the new division would also offer its partners the advantage of leveraging the services of the strategic development center (SDC), which is a secure enterprise-class unit with its own team. The company’s growth clearly lies in expanding domain leadership in focus areas such as banking, finance and 2D and 3D creative services. In the 3D segment, Synechron is currently having clients in the consumer electronics and automobile industry. It is also looking at the gaming and animation industry, he added.
