Mangalore: Syndicate Bank plans to launch 'e-stamping' facility in Mangalore tomorrow. The bank said that initially the facility will be launched at the Kadri branch of the bank in Mangalore, reports The Hindu. The facility will be available in 19 branches in Dakshina Kannada and Chikmagalur districts thereafter. S.K. Siddaiah, District Registrar of Stamps, Government of Karnataka, will inaugurate the 'e-stamping' counter at Kadri branch, while K. Devananda Upadhyaya, General Manager (Information Technology) of Syndicate Bank, will hand over the e-stamp paper to the first buyer on the occasion. Under this system, those intending to buy a stamp paper can remit the eligible stamp duty amount at designated bank branches and get an e-stamp certificate with all the details printed on it. The certificate becomes part of the valid document for the purpose of registration. This ensures credit of legitimate revenue to the government directly without any intermediaries involved. The facility also ensures that there is no shortage of stamp paper.
