Bangalore: With its value going up by 12.95 percent last week, Sundaram BNP Paribas Media and Entertainment Opportunities Fund (Retail) emerged as the top fund last week as per MutualFundsIndia.com. The current Net Asset Value (NAV) of the open-ended fund is 12.3028 and it holds 22 stocks in its portfolio. Satish Ramanathan is the Fund Manager and the total size of the fund is 16.28 crore. Some of the key holdings of the fund are Onmobile Global, Television Eighteen and Global Broadcast News. JM Financial Services Sector Fund also performed well with the growth of 12.32 percent to reach a NAV of 8.2213. The fund that is managed by Sandeep Neema has a total of 15 stocks in its portfolio. Other funds that made it to the top five funds last week include Kotak Dynamic Asset Allocation Fund up by 11.80 percent, Bharti AXA Tax Advantage Fund (Regular) up by 11.35 percent and Bharti AXA Tax Advantage Fund (Eco) went up 11.34 percent. The decision by the Association of Mutual Funds in India (Amfi) to set up a common electronic platform for trading can bring some good news to the fund market. The platform will allow asset managers, investors and distributors to trade, switch over and compare schemes online through a single window. This initiative can result in cost cutting and can also help in diversifying the portfolio of the fund manager.
