Sun to ramp up Bangalore development centre

NEW DELHI : Internet infrastructure major Sun Microsystems in planning to ramp up its Bangalore development centre by adding another 200 professionals.
"We already are planning a modest expansion where further intake of 200 more professionals would take place very quickly to the current 500", Robert Youngjohns, executive vice-president, global sales operations, Sun Microsystems Inc told PTI on Thursday on the sidelines of a CII seminar.
The centre is working on the all leading edge software products, enterprise software and Java enterprise systems.
He said he would recommend to his R&D counterpart in US that more and more of research and development work be done Bangalore .
"I would give an extremely positive view of transferring high-end R&D work to Bangalore ", Youngjohns said.
