Sun Microsystems in pact with PNBIIT

MUMBAI: Sun Microsystems India Pvt Ltd has formed an alliance with Punjab National Bank Institute of Information Technology (PNBIIT), a leading IT training institute for banking, insurance and finance sectors to set up Java and Solaris Center of Excellence in PNBIIT's Lucknow campus.
The step was taken in order to familiarize individual students, employees and other professionals in the banking and financial sector with the latest technologies, according to the company statement. As per the tie-up, Sun Education will provide its official curriculum in Java Technologies and Solaris Administration and its comprehensive instructional methodology to students of PNBIIT, it said.
On the other hand the institute will, offer Java Technology certification paths and Solaris 10 - System and Network Administration certification paths to its own banking students and professionals including those from other banks, it added.
PNBIITs Director, K L Khetarpaul said, Through this alliance, we will leverage Sun Education expertise in the Java and Solaris segment to train and develop the next generation of professionals in the sector.
