A two-day summit to be held here next week will focus on changing patterns in the consumer goods marketing world and the use of latest techniques by companies to increase market share, the organizers said Thursday.

NEW DELHI: Over 500 top-notch marketing professionals from a wide spectrum of industrial sectors will attend the Marketing Summit 2003 to be held on August 20-21, said a Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) statement. "The summit aims to keep the marketers abreast with the latest developments and techniques in marketing," said the statement. "The summit will also explore how brands are winning and losing their share in today's hyper-competitive market scenario where consumer groups and media are rapidly changing and fragmenting." The industry lobby group said the marketing battleground was changing fast in India and so "marketers must revamp their entire consumer value equation and work at a business system to profitably deliver that value". Prominent among those who will attend the summit are Vikram Bakshi, managing director (north India) of McDonalds, Adi Godrej, chairman of Godrej Group, Sanjiv Gupta, president of Coca-Cola India, and Carlo Donati, chairman of Nestle India.
