Subex bags $1.5-million order

BANGALORE : Subex Systems, a telecom software product company, on Tuesday announced that it has won a $1.5-million order from a Tier-1 carrier with more than 15 million subscribers, in the CALA (Central America-Latin America) region, to deploy its flagship fraud management system, Ranger. Commenting on the order, Subash Menon, president and CEO, Subex Systems, said the order marked the company's entry into the CALA region. Quoting Menon, a company statement said, besides wireline and CDMA services, GSM carriers have grown steadily to 36 countries in CALA region, up from a mere four countries five years ago. Teledensity has also increased, with the total subscriber number for Latin America and the Caribbean reaching more than 125 million by mid-2003. "Our strategy is to penetrate this market with the help of partners as we've done in this case," he said.
