TOKYO: Stealth Communications, Ethernet and IP technology service provider and Hitachi cable Ltd., announced a partnership to spread out voice peering to wireless Wi-Fi market. "This marks a major step forward for businesses that operate wireless networks," said Shrihari Pandit, President & CEO of Stealth Communications. Voice Peering Fabric (VPF), which is located in nine U.S cities and London, is the latest trend in the telecommunications industry and is becoming the preferred platform to exchange VoIP (Intelligent Voice and Proxy) traffic and telephony services. It facilitates enterprises and service providers to substitute telephone, video and other multimedia services without diagonal public telephone network. It functions as a meet-point and is designed as a private voice Internet allowing members to establish peer-to-peer links in a secure, quality-of-service setting. Hitachi and Stealth partnership would provide the blueprint and architecture to support the exchange of voice calls not only within a wireless hotspot, but also between multiple hotspots, and with Enterprise end-to-end IP traffic backbone exchanges, yet allowing the ability to interface with the public telephone network, Pandit added. “The live demonstrations at the Hitachi cable booth will also feature a range of products that will work in conjunction with our Wireless IP handsets and Stealth's voice peering fabric. Products include SIP Proxy's, Media Gateways and Session Border Controllers from: Acme Packet, Asterisk, Cantata Technology, Newport Networks, NexTone Communications, pbxnsip, Sansay and SentitO Networks,” collectively announced Dimitrios Stroumbakis, the Technical Director of Hitachi Cable America, with Pandit. Among these SentitO Networks has already announced its interoperability of Open Network Exchange (ONX) IVG1200 Intelligent Voice and Proxy7 Signaling Gateways with Stealth's Voice Peering Fabric (VPF) ENUM registry. The combination of ENUM support with SentitO's media and signaling gateways permits VoIP providers to complete voice calls on an all-IP infrastructure, abolishing the need for service providers to pass through the public telephone system with the potential to save billions of dollars yearly.
