Start-ups need to be more cautious on execution

Bangalore: "Ideas are amongst the smallest things to build a company, what most important is the right execution," said Ashish Gupta, Managing Director, Helion Ventures. According to Gupta, most of the start ups in India do not put much effort to decide an organizational structure that suited to the organization which going to start operation. As companies die more often because of bad sales and marketing more than bad implementation, Gupta urges the organizations to pay more attention to out bond functions such as sales and marketing. "In customer meeting, the organization heads should listen what the customers have to say more than talking themselves and identify answer for why customers will not buy the product?," he opined. Speaking at the Head start 2009, Gupta also added that as far as start-up companies are concerned, top managerial persons may have to handle various responsibilities simultaneously and they should be able to deal with all the matters about the company. "The start-ups need to adopt its structure to really be successful in the future," Gupta noted further. Gupta specified three major elements for the smooth going of the start-ups, which are: awareness of the business which going to set up, careful planning of the things and the clear execution of the whole process.
