Bangalore: A 54-hour event for anyone to pitch a startup idea, Startup Weekend returns to Bangalore. The three day event, 20th January - 22nd January 2012, will be held at Microsoft, Lavelle Road, Bangalore. Anyone interested in the local entrepreneurial community can participate in the event. The ideas being pitched during the event will be voted by the attendees for the best pitches.

About 15 teams will be formed around the best ideas, which then will work through to Sunday evening. The best startups will be awarded prizes ranging from cash to in-kind support from companies. In the past three years, more than 500 startups have started and over 15,000 entrepreneurs have been inspired.

The Startup Weekend will also have a boot camp for all the participants, which will be held at Google Office in Bangalore on the evening of 19th January to help educate attendees on different technologies. The boot camp will help participants decide on what technologies they want to use for their products. The event will also host a special pitch night for the TLabs Accelerator right after the Pre-Startup Weekend Bootcamp.

Startup Weekend is a 54 hour event which focuses on building a web or mobile application which could form the basis of a credible business over the course of a weekend.
