Spice Telecom launches SMS service in 12 languages

Bangalore: Spice Telcom, Karnataka's premium and innovative service provider of cellular mobile telephony services, today launched 'Spice Local Lingo', a messaging service in 12 Indian languages. Company's Brand Ambassador, actress Priyanka Chopra launched the service in the city. The service can be downloaded on all Java-enabled phones. It allows customers a choice of Hindi, Kannada, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Assamese, Gujarathi, Bengali and Urdu messaging service. Speaking on the occasion, Navin Kaul, CEO, Spice Telecom said that the new SMS service would help customers who believe that communicating in one's mother tongue was much convenient and a lot more fun as it enabled a person to be more expressive. According to Rakesh Singh, COO, Spice Karnataka said that the launch of 'Local Lingo' was a key step to connect with the diverse Indian audience and further enhance Spice users experience using native languages.
