SonicWALL appoints Gary Bacon V-P of Asia Pacific

SUNNYVALE: Sreekanth Ravi-founded SonicWALL, Inc., a provider of integrated Internet security solutions, has announced that Gary F. Bacon has been named vice president, Asia Pacific, effective immediately. Bringing over 30 years of sales, management, and marketing experience to SonicWALL, Bacon will report to recently announced Vice President of Worldwide Sales Michael Stewart. "I'm pleased to welcome Gary to the SonicWALL executive team," said Matthew Medeiros, SonicWALL president and CEO. "His appointment demonstrates our commitment to the Asia Pacific region, and his past successes in Asia Pacific market expansion and business development efforts will be a great asset to SonicWALL as we continue to expand our presence there." Bacon was previously the regional vice president of Asia Pacific sales at Cylink, Inc., where he directed the expansion of the Asia Pacific organization and was responsible for growing revenues in Japan from $1 million to $6 million over a two-year period. Prior to Cylink, he was the founder and managing director of Jefferson Partners Asia Pte. Ltd., a high technology firm focused on assisting small- and medium-sized communications technology companies with business development and international marketing. Previous positions include vice president of Asia Pacific sales and vice president of international marketing for General Datacomm International Corporation. Bacon holds a degree in business management and marketing.
