NEW DELHI: In line with its earlier projection, Indian software exports are on track to grow at 26-28 per cent during the current fiscal, Nasscom president Kiran Karnik said on Tuesday. "We are on track to grow at 26-28 per cent in software exports in 2003-04", he told reporters on the sidelines of Asia Tech Summit, adding the October-December quarter looked good. Nasscom had projected Indian software and services were likely to register $12 billion in revenue. On whether pricing pressure has stabilised, he said pricing pressure never goes away but there is no downward push. Karnik said Nasscom would engage itself in dispelling wrong notions about outsourcing. Earlier this month, lawmakers in Indiana state of the US opposed a Bill to ban non-US citizens from doing government contract works as they felt the law would affect overseas investment. "We welcome the change, free trade mutually benefits, helps the states, companies" he said as a response to the development while adding Nasscom would engage itself in dialogues with various parties concerned. Indian software and services exports clocked a 25 per cent growth during 2002-03, touching a revenue of $9.5 billion dollars.
