Bangalore: In spite of rapidly rising rupee, the Indian IT industry is well on track to achieve its software export target of $60 billion by 2010. "?There are also concerns about IT companies moving their operations to other countries, offering huge incentives. But inspite of all the issues we will be able to achieve our target for 2010," Kiran Karnik, Nasscom President said speaking on the sidelines of the Nasscom IT Women Leadership Summit 2007. The government also needs to support with taxation issues, extension of Software Technology Park of India scheme and handling rising rupee, he added. Speaking to reporters here at the Nasscom IT Leadership Summit, Kiran Karnik, President, Nasscom, said that the "rupee rose much too fast, but we are confident of achieving our export target." "If other countries are offering huge incentives to attract these companies, then we cannot afford to ignore that," he said.
