Software CDs launched in four regional languages

New Delhi: The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), a government-run research and development organisation, Saturday launched software CDs in four regional languages to help spread IT in villages. Bodo, Nepali, Maithili and Dogri are the four new languages in which the software is available. With this, the software is now available in 16 regional languages. The CDs contain numerous tools from Internet explorer in the regional language to office documents. Users can now surf the net in the language of their choice with the help of this software. "Our endeavour of bringing out the free language CDs for all 22 constitutionally recognised languages is a step in this direction," IT Secretary Jainder Singh said while releasing the CDs here.
