Washington: It is believed that social networking would be one of the hottest technology segments in the coming years. As it is entering different aspects of human life, it is becoming a socially committed medium of expression. Proving this fact, Facebook, a major player in the social networking space has now helped New Zealand police to identify and track down a burglar. Queenstown police in southern New Zealand posted security-camera footage and pictures of the man who was trying to break into the safe of a local tavern on Facebook. The users identified the person by seeing him in Facebook and the police could arrest him soon. According to the police, the 21 year old burglar would appear in the court on Wednesday. "Clearly, he didn't realize there was a video camera there until the last moment. He looks round and sees it and there's just a shocked look, his face definitely drops," said, Mel Kelly, Assistant Manager of the bar. Facebook, the world's largest online social network has taken part in tracking down criminals in the past also. In November, an Australian restaurateur could find out five young men who left the hotel without paying the huge bill, by posting the footage in the Facebook.
