Silicon Clocks raises $10.3 Million in series C financing
Fremont: Silicon Clocks, a fables semiconductor company, and provider of timings solutions of electronic systems, has raised $10.3 million in series C financing led by Silicon Labs and Premier Venture Firms. The generated capital will go to the full time production of the J-series family of lower jitter timing products. It will also put its CMEMSTM (Standard CMOS + MEMS) process technology into developing the commercial products. All of the company's previous investors took part in the funding led by Silicon Labs, including Tallwood Venture Capital, Charles River Ventures, Formative Ventures, and Lux Capital. "This recent financing round is an endorsement of the approach that we've taken to put CMEMS into high volume, high performance, value-add integrated timing products," said Didier Lacroix, CEO of Silicon Clocks Using more of standardized semiconductor fabrication techniques, Silicon Clocks' CMEMS technology enables developers to simultaneously integrate many mechanical devices directly on top of CMOS wafers. "We believe the promise of MEMS technology has yet to be fulfilled, and Silicon Clocks unique CMEMS approach is very compelling, particularly as an enabler of highly integrated timing and sensor products," said Mike Petrowski, Timing Product line Director, Silicon Labs.
