HYDERABAD: Sierra Atlantic, an offshoring enterprise applications provider, has enhanced its offerings with the launch of software testing services, called interoperability labs that provide multi-platform offshore testing services to hardware and software product developers. The interoperability lab, based out of Hyderabad, provides low-cost testing services that enable software and hardware vendors to certify their products prior to release and allow enterprises to test products before deployment by end-users. Though there are independent software testing labs or companies having their own labs, Sierra Atlantic’s offerings are comprehensive, including functionality, performance, scaleability, compatibility and connectivity testing. The facility is the first independent third-party lab that has fully configured enterprise applications, middleware, hardware and software platforms. Sierra Atlantic’s managing director, Mr Sarath Sura said most companies do not have affordable methods to test their products’ interoperability with multiple platforms. The company’s interoperability lab helps companies that do not have access to testing environments by easily surfacing and resolving software issues before going into production, he added. The company’s executive vice president for marketing and alliances, Mr Marc Hebert, said the lab is a way of extending services to software companies. He claimed companies planning software product development think of Sierra Atlantic not only for interoperability testing but for new product development, integration product development, quality assurance, testing, and maintenance and support. 0With 10 customers, the company is targeting software firms, appliances manufacturers and enterprise application companies. The software testing services business is expected to generate at least 15%-20% of the company’s total revenues.
