Siemens posts 7.5 percent jump in net profit

New Delhi: Diversified company Siemens posted a 7.5 percent jump in consolidated net profit to 757.77 crore for the fiscal ended September 30, 2010, from 704.60 crore in the previous year. "The total income of the company has increased from 9,360.6 crore to 9,743 crore (a jump of 4.1 percent) in the fiscal ended on September 30," the company said in a BSE filing. On a standalone basis, the company registered a net profit of 827.21 crore in the fiscal ended September 30, 2010, compared to 1,044.85 crore in the previous financial year. The company's order backlog stood at 13,583.9 crore on September 30, compared to 10,291.8 crore a year ago. Siemens is the flagship listed company of Siemens AG in India. Siemens AG holds 55.18 percent of the paid-up equity capital of Siemens. Siemens has a presence in India through 19 legal entities providing industry and infrastructure solutions to sectors such as energy and healthcare, among others.
