Shekhar Das Gupta quits Oracle

MUMBAI: Oracle India, Managing Director, Shekhar Das Gupta has quit the company, while the formal announcement of his resignation and the appointment of his successor is yet to happen, says CIOL website. Gupta has not disclosed anything about his future plans. He is on notice period till end of May 2005. When asked, Gupta said, " its a natural process, people come and go." Having joined the global software major in 1992, Gupta held various positions including alliances director, before being appointed country manager in March 1998 and subsequently promoted as the Managing Director. Prior to joining Oracle India, Gupta worked for eight years with PSI Data Systems (a then affiliate of Group Bull, France). His last position at PSI was Product Marketing Manager (Mainframes). He began his career with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) formerly known as the Association of Engineering Industry, where he worked for over two years as an Economist.
