Serena Software announces General Availability of Business Mashup Solution

Bangalore: Serena Software has announced the general availability of its Business Mashup solution, giving companies a faster way to build and deploy simple software applications that solve everyday business problems. More than 1,400 'Mashers' from over 50 countries have evaluated the trial version of Serena Mashup Composer since September, stated a release. "Business Mashups are here today, and they are here to stay," said René Bonvanie, Senior Vice President of worldwide Marketing, partner programs and online services at Serena. "With Business Mashups, Serena provides an effective way to harness the innovation that exists at every level in every department across an organization and convert that innovation into business productivity. We call this innovation without permission," he added. Mashers use Serena Mashup Composer, a point-and-click visual design tool, to connect applications and automate business processes such as sales discount approvals, all without writing any code. Then, with the click of a button, Mashup Composer publishes Business Mashups to Serena Mashup Server, an enterprise-class engine that executes the Business Mashup while providing the high reliability, security, and compliance that IT requires. To get companies started with Business Mashups, Serena will offer an initial set of 13 free, pre-built Business Mashups that can be deployed immediately to address some of the most simple yet time-consuming processes in business today. Serena's pre-built Business Mashups automate common business and IT processes includes Vacation Requests, Employee Onboarding, Sales Discount Approvals, Agile Project Management, Support Case Escalations and Change Requests Additionally, Business Mashups combine content and processes from many different systems using industry-standard SOA and Web services interfaces, making it possible to quickly extend the functionality of existing applications.
