Sensex breaks all records, touches 6761.11 points

MUMBAI:Encouraged by heavy buying by foreign investors, the Sensex Thursday breached all previous records to touch 6761.11 points at the mid-session on the Bombay Stock Exchange. The 30-share sensitive index opened firm at 6700.79 as against Wednesday's close of 6686.89 and shot up further on sustained heavy buying activity to touch an all-time intra-day high of 6761.11. Later, it was quoted at 6758.37, showing a handsome gain of 71.48 over Wednesday's close.
