Security norm violation affects companies' franchise business

New Delhi: The security factor gaining prime importance in India, the Department of Telecom (DoT) has directed two telecom companies to sever their ties with their franchises. The two companies given the notice include Dishnet Wireless which runs the Aircel brand of service and Bharti Hexacom under which is the Airtel brand. With the directions coming into effect, the telecom companies will have to lose around 30 of their franchises whose actions debased the norms. As per an anonymous Aircel Executive quoted in Mint, "The telecom head has found irregularities in the functiuoning of the franchise firms. Though the grounds on which the companies have violated the set standards of security, yet a clear message is send to the firms that violations are made at the security front."
