Science Applications International ties up with Satyam

WASHINGTON: U.S. firm Science Applications International Corporation has formed a strategic alliance with Hyderabad-based software services company Satyam Computer Services Ltd. The San Diego-based Science Applications International said the alliance brings together its expertise in energy, telecommunications and healthcare industries with Satyam's high quality offshore capabilities, and expertise in offshore methodologies and applications development. This tie-up will enable the U.S. firm to provide both industry expertise and cost-effective end-to-end IT solutions to existing and new clients. "We are pleased to form a strategic alliance with Science Applications International, and I am confident that both that firm and Satyam will derive substantial benefit from our experiences, skills, processes and methodologies," said Rama Raju, Satyam managing director and chief executive officer. "We will continue to provide cost effective, yet technologically advanced solutions to our current and future clients," said Art Slotkin, Science Applications International's executive vice president for commercial outsourcing. "This strategic alliance with Satyam allows us to realise additional cost savings without sacrificing quality." Satyam is a multifaceted end-to-end IT solutions provider. Satyam has a presence in 43 countries across five continents and a customer base of around 260 global firms, including approximately 60 Fortune 500 corporations. Science Applications International is the nation's largest employee-owned research and engineering company, providing IT, systems integration and e-solutions to commercial and government customers. The firm's engineers and scientists work to solve complex technical problems in national and homeland security, energy, the environment, space, telecommunications, healthcare and transportation. With annual revenues of $6.1 billion, Science Applications International has more than 41,000 employees at offices in around 150 cities worldwide.
