Scicom Infotech ties up with Credence Systems

NEW DELHI: Scicom Infotech Pvt. Ltd. (Scicom) has tied up with the $ 500 Million Credence Systems Corporation of USA for providing product development services for the latter’s automatic test systems division. As per the agreement between the two companies, Scicom and Credence will jointly establish a Noida Product Development Center (NPDC) that will provide specialized services for developing new technologies and products in testing, validation and characterization at the wafer and board level. The initial tenure of services will be for 3 years. During this period an estimated $6 Million worth of services will be provided under the contract in various R&D activities. Speaking on the development, Dr. Indranil Chakravarty, Managing Director, Scicom, said, “I am delighted that Credence has chosen us to partner with on a joint development center. Our skills and knowledge will form an integral part of the Credence product development team, and over time, I hope that many of our ideas will find their way in the spectrum of design, debug and validation products for Credence”. The product development center, based in Noida will ramp up to about 60 people in the current year and will form part of the other Credence research and development centers in San Jose and Milpitas in California, Ferndown (UK) and St. Etienne (France).
