Scicom Infotech ties up with Credence

NEW DELHI: Noida-based Scicom Infotech on Thursday announced a tie-up up with US based Credence Systems for a joint product development centre to provide services for the latter’s automative test systems division. As per the agreement, Scicom and Credence will jointly establish a product development centre in Noida which will provide specialised services for developing new technologies and products in testing, validation and characterisation at wafter and drawing board level, Indranil Chakravarty, MD, Scicom said here. Credence is the leading provider of design-to-test solutions for the global semiconductor industry. The Noida centre starts with 40 people and will ramp up to 60 people in the current year and will form part of other Credence R&D centres in San Jose, California and London, he said. "As Credence has chosen us to partner with us in a joint development centre in Noida, I believe our skills will form part of the team and many of our ideas will find their way in the spectrum of design, debug and validation products for Credence", Chakravarty said. The initial tenure of service will be for three years and during this period, an estimated six million dollar worth of services will be provided under the contract in various R&D activities. Scicom is a specialised provider of R&D and engineering services for software products in the scientific and technical computing with focus on key verticals like oil and gas exploration, diagnostic imaging, semiconductor metrology and test systems.
