Ram Mynampati, President at Satyam Computer Services in New York will deliver the keynote address at siliconindia’s first CIO Summit on June 25th, at the Hilton New York, Avenues of the Americas. The siliconindia CIO Perspective Breakfast session is a two-hour platform, where leading CIOs from Wall Street firms, insurance, retail, and packaging will be on the presenting panel. “Technology is still a differentiator in the market place,” says siliconindia founder and editor-in-chief Harvi Sachar. “However, CIOs—potential technology buyers—will not buy for technology’s sake. So this time around, we are asking the buyers themselves to reveal their strategies.” Business Case for New Technologies—the theme for the CIO Perspective session—is a learning session for the entrepreneurial market, corporate IT managers and senior executives. The CIOs will explain their buying strategies, how they build cases for adopting any new technology, where do they see pain points yet to be solved and project some trends for the coming years. CIOs who will be presenting include Vic Datta from IBM Consulting Services, Sandeep Manchanda from Marsh & McLennan, Piyush Singh from RLI Corp., Ajit Patel, former CIO at Chicos, and Akhil Bhandari from CCL Industries of Toronto, Canada. Gopi Bala, the well-known former research director of Yankee Group, will moderate the session. Satyam’s senior executive, Ram Mynampati will host the CIO Perspective session. “This is the first time siliconindia is organizing a session where we see the buyers themselves presenting their company’s strategies. I look forward to hearing their cases,” he says. Mynampati will deliver the keynote address for the first siliconindia CIO Perspective Breakfast, where he will speak on the opportunities for the services industries in helping Global 2000 companies adopt these technologies. The event has attracted attention from venture firms and technology product companies. Ravi Mhatre, general partner at Lightspeed Ventures, who will be attending the event, comments that the “CIO Breakfast sparked our attention in its focus on technologies—mobility, security, applications, and so on. We would like our portfolio companies to learn from these buyers. Siliconindia’s absolute focus on the market needs is seen again.” Other premier attendees include Jai Shekhawat of Fieldglass, Hiten Patel of GCI, Ujjal Kohli of Meru Networks, Jim Baker from Packeteer, Antoine Gaessler from Ipolicy Networks, and Sai Gundavelli from Solix.
