CHENNAI: India’s fourth largest software services company Satyam Computer Services is planning to set up software development centers in Latin America and Africa to boost income from abroad and expand global presence, a senior company official said. "We want to have facilities all over the world. Therefore, we are looking at opening development centers in Latin America and Africa where we don’t have any presence now,” Sethu Nambiar, Vice President of corporate strategy and alliances said. He however did not specify when and how would the company go about in starting these development centers. Nambiar also said the Hyderabad based company will also open more development centers in China and double its workforce in Japan. The new centers in China will be in addition to the one already present in Shanghai, he said adding “We see China as an important part of our global offshore delivery model. We are looking at opening more development centers in China, but it all depends on the customer’s demands. The geographical proximity of China to Japan and Korea and their cultural affinity also helps.”
