Satyam plans to expand in Latin America

Hyderabad: After its Brazilian subsidiary won two multimillion dollar contracts, Mahindra Satyam plans to increase its presence in the Latin American market and explore opportunities for alliances with local businesses.
Satyam's subsidiary in Brazil- Satyam Servicos De Informatica is looking at hiring another 100 associates over the next six months. The company currently has around 50 employees working at this centre and Alberto Rosati has been appointed as the Country Head. "Our goal is to be the top player in the Latin American market leveraging Mahindra Satyam's existing global delivery model. The Latin American market is growing rapidly and we see immense growth opportunity in the region," said Arvind Malhotra, senior vice president, Mahindra Satyam.

The company in a statement said the two contracts are from a global conglomerate and a leading player in the logistics sector, without revealing further details. The subsidiary would deploy technology in the enterprise business systems space and aid in enhancing the supply chain operation of these two organizations, it said.
