Satyam opens facility in Visakhapatnam

Hyderabad: Satyam Computer Services Ltd., a leading global consulting and IT services company, Thursday opened its facility in the port city of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy inaugurated the Satyam campus that has come up on 6.5 acres of land at Resapuvani Palem. According to a company statement here, this was the second facility of the company in the state after Hyderabad, which also houses Satyam's corporate headquarters. "The Vizag Centre will employ about 750 associates during its first phase. Thirteen hundred more will join before phase II is complete. These professionals will deliver a broad range of services, led by IT and business process outsourcing for customers in Asia and Europe," said the statement. "We at Satyam are delighted to benefit from the progressive economic policies in Andhra Pradesh, which have enabled us to establish this state-of-the-art facility," said Satyam chairman B. Ramalinga Raju. "We look forward to leveraging the superior capabilities of people in the Vishakhapatnam region, who will deliver world class services to our clients around the globe. In addition, we are proud to have been one of the first professional services organisations to recognise this area's enormous potential, and are eager to play a key role in making Vizag the next business and IT hub of Andhra Pradesh."
