NEW DELHI: Satyam Computer Services Limited, one of India's leading software makers, Tuesday announced its bagging an $8-million contract for the integration of technology services at an international airport in Bangkok. The New York Stock Exchange-listed Satyam Computer is part of a consortium, Airport System Integration Specialists, which bagged the order, said a company statement issued here. Other members of the consortium, which is led by Siemens, are ABB, ABB Airport Technologies and Thailand-based Samart. The statement said the order was won through a global tender for design, development and integration of the airport information management systems planned for the New Bangkok International Airport. The airport is expected to be operational by September 2005. As part of the agreement, Satyam will be responsible for integrating the various systems and for the design and development of the information kiosk for the entire New Bangkok International Airport. "Satyam sees tremendous dynamism in Thailand with the kingdom's recent focus on knowledge and service industries," said Virender Aggarwal, senior vice president and head (Asia Pacific operations) of Satyam Computer Services. "Thailand will continue to be a key focus market for Satyam and this mega win shall further strengthen our commitment to the Thailand market," he added. Satyam already has a strong customer base in Thailand with global and local customers like General Electric, General Motors, and IEC Thailand.
