Sanjay Mehta Wins 'Social Media Entrepreneur Of The Year 2012' Award

Mumbai: Sanjay Mehta and Hareesh Tibrewala, Co-Founders of social media agency Social Wavelength, have received the ‘Social Media Entrepreneurs of the Year’ award at the WAT Awards 2012. The event also saw Social Wavelength being awarded the ‘Social Media Agency of the Year 2012’.

“The double success of being ‘Social Media Agency of the Year’ and ‘Social Media Entrepreneurs of the Year’ makes a fabulous start to 2012. Coming as it does after the Red Herring Asia 100 win, it puts us in the perfect mind frame and serves as a motivation to make 2012 a big year for us, says Sanjay Mehta, Co-Founder and Joint CEO, Social Wavelength.

Social Wavelength was founded in 2009 by Mehta, Tibrewala, and Mihir Karkare, as a brand of Social PR Outsourcing. It carries online marketing for over 50 national and international brands including STAR World India, STAR Movies India, among others across various platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and others.

The company has about 120 employees, and had recently raised its second round of angel funds from four investors including the existing angel investors Sunish Sharma and Jayendra Shah. It plans to work on expanding its locations to metros like Delhi and Bangalore. The company is also working in creating a vertical specialty within social media to cover the aspects like social media for HR, PR, market research, and investor relations, among others. It estimates the social media market at about 250-300 crore and is focusing on large brands with larger marketing budgets.
