HYDERABAD: Samsung India Electronics Limited plans to sell 100,000 branded personal computers through its IT and telecommunications division this year. The company, which launched "BuildurPC", a range of personalised PCs in October, aims to corner a 12 percent share of the branded segment market in India. Announcing the launch of "BuildurPC" in Andhra Pradesh Wednesday, Princy Bhatnagar, the company's country manager for IT products for India, said Samsung hoped the state would contribute seven percent to its total PC sales in the country. "Andhra Pradesh offers a tremendous environment for the proliferation of IT. This is mainly due to the high emphasis that the state government has towards ruralisation of IT infrastructure," said Bhatnagar. India's PC market is estimated at 2.2 million, of which 34 percent is the branded segment and 66 percent is the assembled segment. Available in three models and priced 29,999 onwards, "BuildurPC" can be easily customised for home, office or entertainment use.
