NEW DELHI: Samsung India said on Thursday it was targeting 100 per cent higher audio products' sale this year at 100,000 units on the back of a host of new launches in almost every category. The company has launched three mini and a micro audio product, equipped with four channel amplifier with built-in sub-woofer, DVD playback in the micro model and Dolby digital sound. With the introduction of this new range, Samsung's audio range covers portable, mini, micro and home theatre categories. "We have taken VCD/MP3 as the platform for our entire audio range because this is the segment which has the maximum youth appeal and is showing the highest growth in the Indian market. We will be further enhancing our audio and home theatre range by launching more new models over the next couple of months," Samsung India director R Zutshi told PTI. He said in order to consolidate its position in the audio business and create greater brand association with target group for audios, Samsung India has launched a youth marketing initiative called 'Witz'. "The whole idea of creating Witz is to create a character young people can identify with and relate with in terms of caricature itself and audio as a product category," said vice present (marketing) MB Lee.
