Boston: Jeff Epstein, Chief Financial Officer of Oracle has resigned and is being replaced by President Safra Catz. There is no specific reason for his resignation. Epstein, who had joined Oracle in September, 2008, also oversaw investor relations in addition to the company's financial operations. Safra Catz monitored the company's profit forecasts. Jeff Epstein reported to Safra Catz and not to Chief Executive. Oracle CEO, Larry Ellison said that Safra already has the long-standing confidence among the employees, with the Board and the shareholders. There is no more logical choice for CFO. Safra, who has been a president of Oracle since 2004, concurrently served as Chief Financial Officer from November 2005 to September 2008.
