SJMSM organizes Annual International B-School festival 'AVENUES'

Bangalore: Shailesh J Mehta School of Management (SJMSM) and IIT Bombay is organizing Annual International B-School festival 'AVENUES' on October 31 and November 1, 2009. AVENUES 2009 represents SJMSM's relentless commitment towards the promise to attain balance of all the three aspects (People, Planet and Profit) of business excellence. Over two days of frenzied activity, participants comprising students, industry and academia will converge to contemplate on business ideas consistent with the theme - People, Planet and Profit. Navonmesh - the International Entrepreneurship Convention, being held as part of AVENUES 09, aims to breathe new life into the spirit of innovation and enterprise in the country. The objective of Navonmesh is to offer a helping hand to start-ups and sensitize the modern business school fraternity about the potential and power of their enterprise. Six start-ups have been chosen and B-school wizards have been invited to prepare business plans around those start-ups. Four of these start-ups are supported by Technopreneur Promotion Programme (TePP) of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The primary objective of the business plans should be to help the start-ups go to the next level. The fest will have eleven events and one distinguished lecture series named "Alankar" that is being graced by luminaries from different walks of life. Some of the speakers at the event who will be sharing their experiences are Kiran Karnik , Ex-Chief of NASSCOM; Rahul Bose , Film Personality; Shekhar Gupta, Editor-in-Chief , The Indian Express (Presenter: Walk the Talk on NDTV 24x7); M Damodaran, Ex-Chief, SEBI; Venugopal Dhoot, Chief ,Videocon Group; Gurucharan Das, Columnist, Times Of India; Ajit Balakrishnan, CEO, Rediff.com. The Institute is also in talks with Ratan Tata and Kumar Mangalam Birla.
