Bangalore: SAP AG along with its India partners Arteria Technologies and MindTree have worked jointly with developers at the SAP Co-Innovation Lab in Bangalore to create new workflow and mobility solutions that are being jointly demonstrated and showcased to customers.
Arteria's new offer is already publicly available via SAP EcoHub, an online marketplace for certified solutions by SAP partners. The announcement was made at SAP TechEd 2009, the company's largest ecosystem education event, being held between November 18-20 in Bangalore, India.
The SAP Co-Innovation Lab Bangalore is the latest addition to its co-innovation lab network, which joins the existing labs in Palo Alto, California, and Tokyo, Japan. "India's strengths in technological innovation and development are greatly valued by SAP," said S. Singh Mecker, Senior Vice President and Head of the Global Ecosystem and Partner Group for SAP AG. "The offerings that have been developed at the Bangalore site demonstrate the strength of co-innovation in our product and ecosystem strategy, and we are pleased to be able to make them available to customers through our partners and SAP EcoHub."
Working in the hands-on collaborative environment of the co-innovation lab, Arteria has developed an 'Interactive Advantage' solution that offers out-of-the-box packaged workflow coupled with Adobe Forms for corporate service, sales and marketing, procurement and materials management, and human capital management scenarios. The solution provides partners and employees with personalized forms generated directly from SAP applications, while capturing data that can flow directly back to the SAP system, eliminating the need for error-prone, manual data input. Forms are customizable to meet specific business needs, and include automatic workflow trigger capability to maintain efficiency. Deployment time is reduced to only a few weeks per scenario, allowing customers to accelerate the speed of their corporate and human capital management operations.
"Our customers, who rely on us to continually deliver solutions with proven business value, have quickly recognized the benefits of the lab in Bangalore, as evidenced by the popularity of the Interactive Advantage solution," said Parag Jain, CTO, Arteria Technologies. "Our rate of development is considerably faster when we work in the SAP Co-Innovation Lab, making it a perfect example of a win-win situation that benefits customers, partners and SAP."
MindTree has leveraged the SAP NetWeaver mobile component to develop a mobile solution for the SAP Real Estate Management application based on enterprise resource planning (ERP) and customer relationship management (CRM) solutions from SAP. MindTree's solution provides real-time visibility for sales personnel into geographic information of the property, details on inquiries, creation of prospects and customers, and generation of the sales orders on a mobile device. Additionally, agents can check the availability of the units on a real-time basis and get details such as selling prices, utility costs and more. The application is built on Java and can be deployed on any GPRS-enabled hand-held device.
"With the turnaround of the real estate markets in the coming years, the high demand will put pressure on the quick closure of sales with online value-added services to be provided to the customers," said Anjan Lahiri, President and CEO for IT Services, MindTree. "MindTree, having provided SAP implementations to many real estate companies, recognized the potential of having a mobile solution as an add-on to the SAP 'Real Estate Management' application.
