Noida: Four armed men robbed cash and jewellery worth Rs.25 lakh at gun-point from a builder's home in this township Sunday evening, police said.
Police said the four criminals armed with pistols knocked on the main gate of the Sector 55 bungalow of Madan Mohan, who runs real estate firm Shiv Builders, while he and his elder son had gone out.
After sneaking in, they put a pistol at the builder's wife Kusum's head, overpowered her younger son, snatched keys to an almirah and took out all valuables, including Rs.1.70 lakh in cash and jewellery worth over Rs.23 lakh, the family told police.
When the robbers were leaving the house, some neighbours spotted them and shouted for help but the four men opened fire in the air and fled on their two motorcycles.
"We have constituted teams to nab the criminals. We have taken sufficient leads from sniffer dogs and fingerprints have been lifted. We hope we shall work out the case soon," superintendent of police (city) A.K. Tripathi said.
