Riverstone appoints McGann Executive VP of Worldwide Sales

SANTA CLARA: Romulus Pereira led Riverstone Networks (Nasdaq:RSTN) Thursday announced the appointment of Peter McGann as executive vice president of worldwide sales and service. McGann will be responsible for Riverstone's global sales, sales operations and customer service. "Peter brings a deep understanding of the networking industry and a 360 degree view of our customer's technology requirements and support expectations," said Riverstone Networks CEO Romulus Pereira. "Peter's experience and drive will be fundamental to our continued success as we expand our product and feature set to address the evolving needs of today's mission critical networks." McGann has held a variety of senior executive positions at Nortel Networks, including senior vice president of sales for the e-Business Solutions organization, where he was chartered with increasing revenue while restructuring and realigning the sales force and creating a diversified channel program. Most recently, McGann was the vice president of worldwide sales for Tiburon Networks, a development stage company focused on building next generation intelligent edge routers for IP virtual private networks, network-based firewalls and voice over IP services. "Riverstone is in an enviable position as both service providers and operators of mission critical networks adopt new, more bandwidth-intensive applications," McGann said. "Riverstone's reputation for reliability and service transcend both markets and, together with its next generation engineering talent, uniquely positions the company for a continued leadership role." McGann received his bachelor degree in electrical engineering from the Faculty of Applied Science, Queen's University at Kingston, Ontario and his professional engineering license from the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario.
